Post Warn Winches Feedback Wanted

Hello guys, I am looking for owners of Warn Winches. I'm working on a review site about WW and I am interested to get feedback from people who used it at least a few times. Interested in any Warn series: Zeon, 9.5m, M8, Provantage, and others (including ATV provantage, vantage).

Here are a few questions:
1) Was it difficult to install a winch?
2) Does it have enough power?
3) Your overall impression. Maybe some interesting story.

Also, it would be cool if you provide me a few photos too. I will put your review on my site with your photos and names if you wish. Please, PM me your review. You will help me a lot.

If I had it to do over I'd get a Warn. I got a Ramsey 9500 and it's a piece of junk, seems like every time I try to use it, it breaks.

Warn are by far one the best winches and are recommended countless times over the web.
Compared with other recommended 4x4 winches found on this article, it seems to be the one people go for.
On your review site, what others have you reviewed?
Also, Mark what makes the Ramsey 9500 so bad? I am looking at treating myself in the sales in the new year!

Warn winches and premium hubs are the only Warn products I would consider using. I had too many warranty problems on other Warn products,or should I say lack of warranty. Because of that I run a MileMarker hydraulic winch on both ends of my F-350 and Yukon front hubs. I do have several friends that run the Warn winches with good results and I did run a wrecker that had them on it to replace the Ramsey's that failed multiple times.

1, yes they are ez to install.
2, As long as you install the appropriately rated winch for your vehicle. The power is spot on. An under powered Winch on an Oversized vehicle is a problem waiting to happen.

A Winch is HEAVY, so an assistant to help with the placement will help. A winch/Bumper combo installed together.... some applications, is even all that more heavy.
Just remember, a winch is primarily for Self Recovery. Some folks will use their 8000lb rated winch on their Jeep to pull out an F350 stuck up over it's axles in mud. Although it may do it(?), But, you may have problems that you never expected.

Bought my first 8274 in 1975 or so and still have it. Replaced the motor once around '87 after I burned it up winching my Land Rover with two other vehicles connected to it up a steep icy hill in VT.
I've since bought two others used plus a Ramsey RE10000 and two RE12000. I'm putting one of the RE12000's on my F250. I was going to use one of my Warn's but I like the RE worm drives better because they are slower (safer) and draw less current than the 8274.

The 8274 us a great winch, easy to mount and has plenty of power. IMO people tend to overbuy capacity. With good rigging even an 8274 would be plenty for my F250.

On a side note, I also have a couple of 8000lb !Koenig PTO winches which I like.

Yes I do.
You are asking if people believe it’s a POS article, right?

my opinion of that bash Warn winches piece is this: it was written by a competitor of Warn to try to make Warn products look bad, because they do not make a product that is as good as a Warn winch.

I actually think it was written by a person who hasn't used any winch much, if at all.
Key to that is the first problem, "contractors".
Problem 2 I can't address since none of my winches have synthetic rope.
All the others can happen with any electric winch and some are a user problem, not a fault of any winch.
