Oil Filter Check
I picked up an 06 F350 about 800 miles ago, and I'm not home to check it out much yet. From what I can see of the oil filter, it almost looks too small. It's a Mobile filter and the number on it is M02222, which I can't find anywhere on a cross reference. It doesn't leak...paranoia or should I get it changed before I head for home?

A quick Google search shows a Mobil M1-210 for my 99 Triton V10. Rock-auto shows the same filter for a 2006 V10 as well. Check the numbers again. If it's different than I would plan on changing it, I use the Motorcraft filters and oil.

MO-2222 is definitely not right for that year. Something I found says "09-16 Ford" but I can't say even that is correct.

That ain't no Ford filter. I might FIT but I bet it doesn't have the right anti-drainback valve or some other difference.
Can't say if you should get it changed right away or not, but ... who did you buy the truck from?

Thank you for the confirmation. I bought the truck at Taylor Hyundai out of Perrysburg, OH and it has a service tag from a Mobil service station in the window. I thought maybe they had their own filter numbers for in house work, but it just doesn't look right. I'll change it out before I head for home. Thank you!
