A-Pillar removal

Trying to remove my A-pillar and cannot figure out how to get it off. This is what is behind the trim caps. There is no head for socket or allen. Enlarge photo and you will see what I am talking about

It's an oddball size bolt like 7/32 or 5.5mm or something like that. Take out both bolts per handle then the trim should pull slightly up and out. That bolt looks rounded like someone was having trouble finding the correct size socket to use, so I'd replace it.

There is no head to put a socket onto. Look closely at photo.

Your picture very clearly shows a hex head.

Looks to be a hex head bolt that someone rounded the corners off by using an incorrect size socket.

Zoom in more on the pic. Head is not rounded off. It's a 7mm or 8mm if I remember correctly. There are two on the grab handle.

I see it and yes it is a round off bolt head. You need to use the correct size socket to have any hope of getting it out without drilling it.

Doesn't matter, put a biter bit on it and replace with some good bolts.
