Got a head scratcher on my hands. Took my 2005 Excursion in for an oil change today, and they told me that my driver's side reverse light is out. Rather than pay them to replace it, I stopped at O'Reillys on the way home and bought a pack of bulbs and replaced them both.
However, the driver's side light still doesnt work, even with a fresh bulb. A quick inspection told me that the old bulb still looked good, too.
Any idea on why just one side would not work? I've never had that happen before when the problem was not the bulb.
Headlight and taillight bulb sockets dying isn’t abnormal. Most parts stores stock them. If you have comdensation inside the taillight assembly, you’ll have this problem again. Dry = good.
