on my 14, now that it is getting colder i am having starting issues.
it will fire rite up, but when i put it in gear it will die, almost like it is running out of fuel. it usually restarts, but twice i had to step on the gas to get it to start and it ran like crap. then i have to get it in gear and feather the gas to get it running. once moving it is fine.
any ideas?
truck has 97,000 miles on it. plugs were changes when i got it at 94,000 miles
i don't know if this has anything to do with it, but this thing only gets 8-9 mpg town driving and 12-13 out on the road.
2014 F-250 4X4 supercab shortbed with 3:73 gears and stock 18 inch tires and a 5 star economy tune.
in stock tune it only gets 6-7 in town triving
Wow, that's pretty crappy mileage. I take it it doesn't throw any codes? Did it have cold start issues last year too? With the stock tune in it, does it have cold start issues (I know the mileage is worse)?
See if maybe 5 Star can send you another tune?
Sounds like something's seriously screwed up in your fuel metering.
it does have a bad passenger hub seal.. but that would only cause vacuum leak when 4X4 is engaged correct?
not sure on what it did last year, i got the truck end of january and had the plugs changed first thing.
then had the cats changed because the bad plugs burned out the cats.
the 5 star was to compensate for the high flow cats throwing a cat efficiency code.
since putting the 5 star in, i have not had any codes except for when the driver side manifold to cat bolts loosened up. changed the studs and cleared that code and all is good again.
this truck really don't get used much, 4 miles one way to and from work 2-3 days a week..
and an occasional 11 mile run one way to and from the old body shop.
the only reason i drive the truck instead of a car is because it is easier to get in and out of.
in the past 10 months i have only put 4,700 miles on it.
this morning at 26 degrees i used the remote starter and let it run for about 1 minute before getting in it. it drove rite away without any hesitation at all.
i have a sct programmer with 5 star tunes loaded into it. it does not pull codes. and there are no codes in the truck according to autoenginuity, torque app, or the autoXray scanner.
