No need to pass through the firewall.

Be careful with this. My 2017 uses micro2 fuses at the passenger kick panel for the small fuses.

According to the PDF (starting on page 311) it looks like there's a variety of fuses used in the truck.

Either way. There's a fix for that.

Or you know, take it as an example and do your own research to validate it's a correct part.

Depending on which circuit needs to be tapped into on the passenger side kick panel fuse box, both micro and mini fuses are present.

I have a dash cam installed. Currently to a 12 volt source so it shuts off with my ignition. This doesn't allow my particular camera to work when the truck is off and parked somewhere though. However my local installer said there is an attachment that you can wire in that will measure voltage so if it starts to drain the battery it will shut off. I'm going to have them install it when I go back to have my sound system done.
