CB Again!
I have a portable (Midland 75-822) but I'll be putting a more permanent install into the truck (Cobra SSB).
I remember years ago, wiring in my first CB (back in the mid 80's) and I ran the power wire to the fuse box.
Well believe it or not, I DON'T know where the Fuse Box IS (lol) in my 2009 F-150, and I don't remember if there is a "best choice" for what fuse to hook the Power Wire to. (I know that I should hard wire it to the battery but I'm lazy).
Where's my Fuse Box, and which Fuse is "best" for running the Power Wire from the CB to????

Chose the Cigarette Lighter Adapter as my power source. You're right of course about making sure the unit is off.
I had to take out the bottom slot trim (required the unsnapping of a few of the molding pieces to get to the bolts that held the slotted piece out.
Took it out so that I could cut the back off it, to accomodate the Coax and the power wire. If I didn't do that, the unit would not line up with the bracket holes (too far forward, because it was butting up to the power wire and coax in the back of the unit.
Everything snapped back into place nicely. Glad they were not held on by bolts or break-away clips.
