Need pics of 78/79 Bronco rear bumper brackets and frame

Passenger frame
Driver frame
Huge gap
I'e got a 76 F350, I've got a "contour" bumper from a 67-72 like I need. I have 73-79 brackets like I am supposed to use, but the bumper does not sit right. It is too far out. There is no possible way to make it sit tight to the body like it is supposed to because of where the rear shackle mounts sit relative to end of frame. I am thinking they must have used different, shorter brackets if anyone ever tried to install a contour bumper on an F350, maybe nobody did that back then I don't know.

I do not want to hack up my 73-79 brackets since I still have dreams of getting a 73-79 short bed F100/150 2wd some day, but I can' find any pictures that show the frame and brackets separately on a Bronco to compare. I have searched here and Google to no avail.

Those brackets must only work on regular pickups, not on SCS's that have the axle way back there..... Custom might be the only way to go, you have a set for a pattern, I'd think you could trace the contour from those and make em to fit.....

guess I'll need to draw something up in Solidworks and bust out the welder.

...or I could install the Lund roll pan I bought before I lucked into the 73-79 brackets.

1973/79 F350 Regular Cabs on the 140" wheelbase use unique contour bumper brackets. They are not the same as anything else.

1973/76 F350 Super Camper Special; 1973/79 Trailer Special; 1977/79 Camper Special. Ford dropped "Super" after 1976.

Bronco contour bumper brackets will not work on any 1973/79 F100/350.

The '78/79 Bronco contour rear bumper is the same as 1973/79 F100/350's with 37 1/2" width rear frame rails, but...

The Bronco bumper brackets are longer due to the 17808 rear stone deflector (see pic) that no F100/350 came with.

Well you asked for a pic..this is my parts Bronco. Just hit up HIO's link and follow his lead to make some easy enough.

Other pics are contour bumper brackets off a truck. Yes do not cut those brackets you have now. Copy and then cut as needed.

This is my sons 75 Explorer. As you can see the contour bumper can be tucked up very nicely. Ford should have done this from the factory. We used modified Bronco brackets.

We made the brackets so that it rolled the bumper to follow the body lines better and tucked it up as high as it would go, while allowing the tailgate to still be fully functional.

This is my current build 1975 F-250 2wd Lifted shortbed. Making my own brackets. The ones that you see pictured here are incorporated into a new hitch, they need to also have some Tabs welded on the horn ends so that the bumper itself can be screwed down onto it, you get the idea though.
