Any way to make a 7.3L 99` Diesel sound lower or possibly louder?
I wanted to actually put a 5" Chrome tip on the end of it because I have heard that they make it sound lower/louder as well as look good. I really don't want to spend the money on replacing the entire exhaust system. Any ideas would be appreciated...

A tip won't change much sound wise on a Powerstrock, For a cheap improvement in sound replace your muffler with a section of pipe. It will sound a lot better.

The stock pipe size is 3.5". If your truck has a cat on it you could take that off too and that will make a big difference in sound and keeping your EGT's cool.

I took the muffler and the kitty off of my dads 99 F-350 4X4 SC PSD. The thing sounds sweet!!! I did this about a year and a half ago while dad was on vacation. His truck is chipped and also running a air intake system (K&N), there was a noticable power differance from when the muffler and cat where in place. I am not sure if there would be that big of power differance on a stock truck. Now there are 5 other PSD's in town that are straight piped and we live in a town with only 1,200 people. Look what I started!!
