That is not true at all. Comprehensive claims do not count against you and do not affect your rates. I've had several windshields replaced as well as dents in my doors from shopping carts (wind blew them in) and none have ever hurt me. I've even had tree branches fall onto my truck and scratch my paint from storms that have all been covered with no rate increases. It is the collision claims that will count against you.
It is the main reason I carry a $0 glass and $0 comprehensive deductible. If it isn't my fault, I don't want to pay period.
