I finally did the hutch and harpoon mod because of a broken pickup screen. It was broken right off at the bottom of the metal tube.
1. Was i supposed to have run the 3/8" fuel line directly from the tank pickup to the prefilter? Its still apart so no worries yet. The truck would run out of fuel at 3/8 of tank. Made it fun to drop tank.
2. On the front tank vent is hose that goes to a t. One side goes down the frame rail. Is the other part of the t supposed to be hooked to something? I do not see another hose and it does not appear to have ever been hooked up.
screens were dirty. I have a new fuel pump to install too only b/c current one has 220 k.
Yes, run a rubber line from the pick up tube out to the frame rail so you can install your inline filter.
For the T on the vent, I don't remember. Is the other side of the T open or solid? Sometimes vents have a hook forged into the fitting to keep the thing in place and elevated. It can look like a T when it's really not open on the other end.
It is 7/16 at those locations of the vent line. I had a hell of a time trying to get 3/8 to fit when my rear vent line disintegrated when I did my mod. I later found this pic saying it's 7/16 there. My 3/8 line is visible when I get in my rear fender well. So far its still securely attached but if it ever falls off, ill replace it with correct 7/16.
