Oh jeez, here we go again ... A quick Google search indicates the number you posted is likely the engine block? F4TE should mean it was made in 1994.

This is not a part number, it's the casting number for the engine block.

Casting numbers are foundry marks, cannot be cross referenced to Ford part numbers.

The only thing I can tell you is: F4TE is 1994 truck related, but it does not mean it was actually cast in 1994.

If you can find the 'date code' that is cast onto the block and post it, that will decode to the month, day and year the block was cast.

Example: 4C03 = March (C) 3, 1994 (4).

I'll tell you this, if it's a 5.8, it's a roller block. Mine is an AA-9

August 16th 93?

I cannot make out the letter. If it's an H = August.

A = January, M = December, the letter I is skipped.

6015 is a basic block group part number, it's changed over the years to what we use now on modern trucks. I believe 6009 is a bare block, 6006/6007 is a complete long block on the new stuff.

6015 is the block casting basic number.

6007 is the Ford basic part number for a long block. 6009 is the Ford basic part number for a short block. 6010 is the Ford basic part number for a bare block.

Pic from 1980/89 Ford light truck parts catalog, first page of 351W section. Notice what it says about 6015.
