Trailer lighting issue

Trailer lighting issue
need some help/ideas.
I put a sled deck into my truck. the deck has running and brake lights. it plugs into the trailer light receptacle with a 4 way flat. However, since it only has running and brake lights, there are only 3 wires in the 4 way flat. (green, brown, white)
when plugged in, the truck thinks the "trailer" has a blown turn signal light. specifically the left. when using the left turn signal, the signal hyper-flashes on the dash, but flashes normally at the indicator lights themselves. also there is a slight glow and flicker to the rear running lights of the deck on both sides when all the other lights are off.
I have programmed the truck to recognize this "trailer."
any thoughts or ideas to fix the issues?
thanks

The first thing I would do is make sure you are grounding your to steel and not to aluminum. The next thing you are going to want to do is determine the function of each of the 3 wires on your deck. Attach each wire, one at a time, to a separate car battery and see what function turns on.
After you know the functions of the wires you can match them accordingly to the 4-pin trailer plug:
White-Ground
Brown-Tail/Running Lights
Green-Right Turn/Brake - Remember green has an R in it
Yellow-Left Turn/Brake - Remember yellow has an L in it
