I don't have this but dad owned in in the early to mid 50's. It had a 4 cyl and spare tires on both sides. Any of the experts here know anything about it from the photos? It's always been a dream of mine to find this old Ford but dad sold it in 58 or so I think so it's long gone now.
It looks like a '30 or '31 Pickup. That is cool that it had duel sidemount spares. Those are some great pictures! I am going to say that it is a '30 model since it looks like it has the narrow bed. A wide bed came on the '31.
Dad isn't really sure on the year and has said it was really a mixture of several years. It was a 4cyl though. He was a poor broke collage kid and paid $50 for it off a farmers manure pile. Put 100K miles on it over the next eight years and sold it for another $50. He tells a story about doing work in eastern Oregon and coming across a rancher with a bunch of parts in his barn. Dad's tires were always going flat on him and the rancher said he could have the ones in his barn for free if he wanted. They were apparently a few sizes to large so dad cut the inner bead off them and let the air out of his tires and put them over the smaller one. He filled them back up and drove it like that for years. They even drove that thing from OR to the Tetons national park for there honeymoon in 58. Never went over 35 mph the whole way. It has spare tires on both sides and him and mom got so they could fix a flat in under three minutes.
I don't know much at all about these but would love to know what anyone can tell me about it from these pictures. Dad built quite the little camper out of the back end and took my mom my older brother and a big Samoyed dog camping pretty regularly. Hard ti imagine them all in that little cramped cab but I guess you made due back in the day.
Great Story. I can't blow up the picture but someone who can should be able to see if it is 30 or 31 splash apron. Only late 31s got the wide bed, about 3-4 months production, IIRC

Looks like the '30 split splash apron to me. Not a late '31 wide body since it doesn't have the all metal roof which I think the wide body '31's had.
Neat Story, I had a 30 AA and a 31 Deluxe. We used the AA to move things around the property. It had a crane on it. Here is the A and the AA. GB will like the crane truck.
