So I was out of country for a week, and when I got back state side to the blistering cold of the North East, my blower decided to stop working. I'm getting hardly any air flow out of my vents, and it doesn't change at the different speeds. I pulled the blower motor and checked what kind of power it was getting from the pigtail, at all 4 speeds its getting 14.4 volts and 4.6 amps, nothing changes when I change speeds inside the truck. I'm wondering if its the resistor or something else? I've seen when the resistor goes, usually a couple of the fan settings still work, while none of mine are working. Thanks!
when I pulled the motor, it was spinning, but just barely. Its getting 12v and 4.6amps from the pigtail.
Ill try the bench test, but what else would it be?
I’m sure it’s the motor......but b4 I would purchase one. I would bench test it......
if if you have a compressor, I would blow it out very well......
ive had them go bad, take them out clean them, then spray wd40 to them and they worked
most likely its the blower motor unit, if blowing it out doesn't do much try hitting the motor with WD4 lithium grease and if that doesn't solve the issue replace the fan.
If it stays on high, usually the blower motor resistor needs to be replaced.
I've read where the blower motor stays on other speeds, but high is the default when the blower motor resistor goes bad. I see you replaced it.. Hmmm,,,
Does it look like the following pic?
Does sound like it could be the motor since you replaced the resistor.....unless the 2nd resistor pack is bad
so I finally got around to replacing the blower motor, still barely blowing at all. I switched the blower relay out with another one and still nothing...whats left?
Blows fine on bench test, once its in the truck I cant even hear it blowing. Checked all fuses, checked the relay. The only thing I can think of is maybe the new resistor is trash??
