Best to transfer weight to front for braking with a WDH rather than have all the weight on the rear axle.
I never leave home without my WDH wether I am towing 8000# or 15,000#
The hitch mounting brackets and arms are longer with more frame contact . During a Ford Ride and Drive Event there were two trucks set up without wd and the handling was very good .
I tow a lighter weight trailer and have concerns about windy conditions more than weight transfer . I also order the heaviest front axle setup available to control nose dive during emergency stop situations .
The final printed version of the towing guide will be released at the end of the month .
My receiver is 2.5 inch. Of course I've misplaced the Ford reducer. I always thought it was a little flimsy appearing anyway, so I bought one of these:https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Acces...ese/58102.html
For the trailer that is used the most, I just bought a 2.5"x2"/6 inch extender for the Weigh Safe ball mount.

Where did you find a 2.5" hitch extender? I couldn't find one anywhere.
Not a fan of the reducer set up.Lining up 4 hole with a 65 lb weight disturbing hitch is a pain. Thinking about a tack weld to hold everything in place.
Its always comical how little salesman seem to know about the vehicles they sell lol. The truck is supposed to come with 2 sleeves and a pin. Hope you get it worked out from the dealer.
As far as I know, there are no 3 inch weight distribution hitches on the market yet. And even if there were, that's a pretty pricey item to replace.
Not quite true. When I went searching for just such a Unicorn I found Andersen. I bought it and have been using it for a few months. I did a write-up on it which can be found here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ion-hitch.html

That's a handy bit of info to keep in the back pocket. Thanks!

Will be stopping by tomorrow evening to let them resolve the issue. I really don't anticipate any problems, but you never know how these things are going to go.

I only got one sleeve and a pin on my 350 Platty, heavy tow pkg. Hmmm...
Mine came with both reducers. Also I made a run without the WDH on our camper and it pulled great no issues. Was only about 20 miles each way and camper pulled straight and not a bit of sway while on the highway.
Stopped by the dealership and explained my problem. The manager told the salesman to go out to the lot and get a reducer off another truck. When he came back with the reducer, I tried to install my hitch with no success. The pin holes refused to line up. So we went back out to the lot and got the 2.5" to 2" reducer from the same truck. I noticed right away that it did not have a flange at the opening where the original reducer he gave me last week did. Everything lined up perfectly, so I'm good to go. I can only figure that he took the single reducer off of a truck with a 2.5" receiver rather than a 3" receiver.
Bought our F250 to tow a trailer that we have on order. I'll be getting a weight distributing hitch with sway control. Our receiver is the 2½" size, but most all the WDH stingers are only 2". I could use the adapter that came with the truck but thought that after spending all this money for the truck, trailer, and WDH I should spend a bit more and get the 2½" one so things aren't slopping around back there.
But then I got to thinking about how a weight distributing hitch works - by torquing the stinger up in the receiver. So theoretically this should prevent the hitch and adapter from slopping around, right?
Anyone have any first hand experience using the receiver reducer adapter with a WDH? Is it quiet, or does it bang around back there?
