Does 83 F100 have an electric fuel pump?

My 83 F100 does not seem to be getting gas to the carb. It starts with ether (starting fluid). It recently had a new mechanical fuel pump installed. Does it have an electric pump in the tank?

Thanks!

Yes, there is fuel in the tank. The gauge was near empty when this started. I put about a gallon in when I saw it near empty.

The guy that replaced the pump had to get a second one because the first new one didn't work. Maybe this one failed, too. I don't drive it much at all and it's been about a year since it was replaced.

put at least 5 gallons in the tank. 10 would be better. then try priming the fuel system again.
by bet is there is nothing wrong with the pump, and you are simply sucking air.
the fuel pickup in the tank has a tendency to crack, or the strainer on the bottom of the pickup falls off and you will "run out of fuel" at between 1/8 and 1/4 tank mark.

I hate to see what a long time is.........

How has it been starting up to this point?
Did this start now that it is getting colder out?
Well I would add more than 1 gal of fuel if it is near empty.
Other than that 1 gal of fuel when was the last time you got fuel?
Only way to know if the pump is failing is to do a test on the pump, volume & PSI test.

If you are not using this truck much, make sure you use real non-ethanol fuel when you fill your can up. Use this also for your lawnmowers. weedeaters, chainsaws, etc. You will save a lot of time and money doing this. The ethanol fuel you get at the regular pump now is lousy and will gum things up in short order.
