I just bought one of these earlier to try out... I figured for 15 bucks, it was worth a try. Well, I don't think it made any difference. Shakes the same or slightly less than the original mirror. Surprised it doesn't shake more... being that it weighs about 1/3 what the original part does!
Were these wide angle types back then too? Or is that just a more modern style?
I do not know how far back the "wide angle flat back" 6x9's went (77 in the chart) but my 79 XLT parts Bronco had the black painted arms and black plastic bodied flat back 6x9's.
I even got a smaller set of type 9's (5x7 3/8) in my local JY from a old Courier or Nissan truck??
I Have a mint set of type 8 I want to try for towing.
Did Ford ever paint the mirrors black on any trucks ? I bought an old farm truck of the original owner. It is a 79 F-250 snowfighter. It has matte black mirrors. He said it came like that.
First I have seen it. They are the type 5.
