Latest ICON Broncho... architectural glass?

So on the HP, they mentioned the architectural glass. And while it looks cool, I had never heard that term used before. And even after watching the vid, I don't really get what it means, other than the finish... Anyone have a clue?

Heard the term, but don't know the details. Used in buildings where glass is almost a structural member, so maybe it's all about the flex, thickness, stress resistance and safety.
Because it looks like they're gluing it in, instead of using the rubber seals, maybe that's why they're doing it?

Have not watched the vid yet, but now you've got me curious too.
Probably a quick google will yield the definition too.

Oh, and I bet it's got higher UV blocking properties as well. Trying to keep solar gain in those buildings is a huge thing nowadays for obvious reasons.
I bet it's quieter as well, which might be a main reason for ICON to use it.

Guess I was wrong. Sounds like they were just using it for the looks mainly. Guessing it still has those characteristics I mentioned, but he said that he liked the look of it.
Looks like it's too tinted on the door glass to be CA legal, but because it's a limited edition vehicle and they're the factory, maybe there is a loophole to get away with it.

as a builder to me it just means "from the building trades"~
As it's all flat glass (6 pieces) I used lami (left over laminated store window glass) to fill in all the windows as nothing wuz there, I'm not an auto guy & I had the material around. Still 'saftey' glass tho.

Looks like he got the regular rubber gaskets from Dennis Carpenter or other typical bronk vendor. Whaddaya think, Paul? They come frm ur shop?

Nah. Probably gets them direct from Carpenter. Or perhaps any one of a number of weatherstrip manufacturers.

I was wondering about being legal in CA... But I imagine most ICON owners have enough scratch that they'd find some way around it... Though I think if you get a ticket for this, you have to prove you've rectified the situation...
