new truck set up
I just purchased a 2017 F250 diesel to haul my 2015 3 horse Hawk trailer. Here it is all set up shown on a slight hill. The clearance I have is 9 inches. When I got the trailer, the dealer hooked it to my 2015 gas F250 and said 9 inches minimum. I had to adjust the tube to fit the taller truck. Is that enough clearance? The trailer sits at a very slight incline on flat ground. If I lower the tube, I will only have 6 inches of clearance.

If you mostly tow on good roads and your driveway isn’t too steep you should be able to get by lowering it an inch or two. Just be sure to keep an eye on it when you’re in rough or steep places. I had a CM aluminum that had a similarly deep nose - there’s just no way to level them on today’s taller trucks.
