The UltraGauge is available in two models - EM Plus or MX 1.3.
The models are mostly the same, but each have added features.
Now that people have experience with these is one more useful?
Is one model better for gas vs diesel?
It seems to me over the last few years, they've had production problems - "out of stock". I tried one about 6 years ago when I bought my 6L, and it didn't read very much (I have a scangauge2 and lots of support on adding PID to monitor many things which aren't "standard").
I sold it to a co-worked with a gas car and he was happy with it.
I have the UltraGauge MX. I have the V10 and I bought it mainly because I don't really care for the idiot-gauges that Ford provides. I wanted to be able to monitor the transmission temperature specifically, because I towed a travel trailer and the MX includes the transmission temperature as an option (the main reason I chose it over the Plus). The EM Plus does not. It's capable of monitoring more things than I'd ever use. I just wanted something more accurate than what's in the instrument cluster. It works well and the screen is fairly easy to read. You can set up multiple pages of things to monitor if you'd like. I think it will even automatically scroll through them if you want. Again, I just wanted to be able to see the actual transmission temperature along with engine temp, voltage, etc. I've been happy with it.

I've been using the old original version of the Ultra-Gauge since before 2010 when I bought our EX. It is more basic than the current offerings and does not include trans temp or voltage readings. I still find it useful for a variety of other data points, I also use one in my Suzuki Vitara to keep an eye on things. I use stand alone gauges for trans temp, rear diff temp and Voltage, I'm old and old school, I like real gauges and plan to add more at some point.
I'd look to get the U-G with the most features if that's what you want, but I'd also look at maybe going with an OBDII dongle, Torque (Pro maybe) and a cheap android tablet for the same functionality with a bigger screen (that can also do other things for you) at then same or less cost.
