The Flatheads are handled through their Performance, Authentic Department. This is not an exchange, they need your engine to rebuild. They have free pickup and delivery, as long as you’re on or near one of their routes.
They replace all wearable parts, seals, and gaskets. They use adjustable lifters and hardened seats and valves. The turnaround is approximately 7-9 weeks, door to door.
It comes with a 3-year or 100,000 mile warranty.
Assuming no cracks, the cost is $6,176. They will paint it the authentic original color for an additional $75.
Thanks for checking on that. I should have talked to them at the car show. So we’re back to 6k and you provide the engine, which keeps it original. It’d be my luck I’d hit 100,000 miles in 2 1/2 years and then something would break.
Just a follow up on Engine rebuilds, Roger is still rebuilding engines and has some ready to go I believe. His prices seem super reasonable to me but he probably doesn't have the overhead that most shops would have. If anyone wants his contact info send me a message and ill forward his info. Not sure if he wants me to post his number here or not.
I have an original numbers matching truck that I am finally getting closer to the dreadful engine rebuild. It is a flathead 6 (226) I live in Washington State. I got the engine to run, then it got torn down completely and had the block checked for cracks and it is all good to go. The problem is, I can't find anybody who is either a. reliable or b. available. Anybody know of anyone in Washington/Oregon/Idaho that does good quality work that they would recommend?

My friend Roger is in Salt Lake Utah so a little ways out of your search area but he has had a lot of reviews some from regulars here on FTE as well.

Aren't there any NAPA machine shops in your area? Have you tried the Tri-Cities area?

Ask the members of the local Early Ford V8 Club for a recommendation
actually he is my #1 choice, but...he is coming off neck surgery and has been out 3 months. He has 2 engines to finish, and he is going to see where it goes from there. He was hoping he could do another one, but he didn't know. Kind of ironic, his grandpa started the company in 1948, so I said it was fitting if he could finish my 48' Ford as his last motor if he could. Thanks

Sad news for sure, hope he recovers well. That said, I will defer to Ross' suggestion.

I didnt find anything with a quick google search. I'm guessing that he isn't still building engines, makes you wonder who would have taken on his business.
