6.4L Tuner

Hey guys I'm new to this page and found myself clicking on it a lot through google searches so I'll get right to the point. I have a 2010 F250 6.4L twin turbo diesel, the truck is relatively stock currently running a 2.5 inch level kit, 35s, and 5 inch down pipe back Flo Pro straight pipe. The engine and tranny are stock with no mods/upgrades, dpf is deleted but egr is not. Ever since I put the straight pipe on the engines idle shot up to 950 rpms, was at 750 stock, I was wondering if there was a way to control/adjust the idle back to the 750 level. From what I've seemed to gathered everyone points to a tuner/programmer but which one is best for these 6.4s and will do what I want it to do, mainly lower the idle and possible egr delete in the future. Additionally will these 6.4s fit a 5in down pipe from the turbo, if so what are the pros and cons to it, love the way my set up sounds now but always curious. And finally cold air intakes on these 6.4s, any brands to look at, always seem to come across S&B and wondering if they are worth pulling the trigger.

What tuner did you use in order to delete the dpf?
I'll assume the delete pipe installed doesn't have bungs for the exhaust sensors and that they are unplugged and connectors are just tied up out of the way? I think it was the Gearbox tuners if memory serves me right, would cause high idle if the exhaust sensors weren't plugged in. You can plug the sensors into the harnesses and tie them up out of the way if your pipe doesn't have the bungs for them.

Each tuner has different capabilities and requirements. The one thing in common is that the EPA has really clamped down on the up and coming sport of off-road diesel racing.

In the end, you need to find you own solution to meet your requirements. Most of the tuners and exhausts are sold together as a package, if they are still in business then you need to work with the tuner manufacturer themselves on their requirements and capabilities. Most of the tuners turn off the EGR valve, which would enable an EGR removal and caps on the connections - again, work with the tuner manufacturer if they are still in business.
