auto hubs

Any tips on packing auto hubs on 98 B II. I read about using a magnet to remove the little part. I know the book says to repack every 25k miles. How often do most people actually repack their B II wheel bearings?

I repack mine about the same time I get new tires and alignment. 20-25k miles. Repack "before" the alignment.

I repack the old fashion way. Palm full of greese and work it in. I've tried a couple of the wheel bearing packing tools with little success.

BTW: Mine are manual hubs.
