WOW! 6.8% for XL’s and over 20% for Plats?!? I guess I’m just too old and set in my ways to understand why this would be the numbers for anyone justifying an SD. Do people actually work an $80K truck? And I’m not talking about towing your yacht... I’m of the mind that you should work the hell out of your truck and go to dinner in a luxury vehicle of your choice.
Just my .02, but I just replaced my danged-up old ‘93 Ford farm truck with my new 2017 F-250 and hope I’ll trade that in for my next one in another 25 years when it’s just as danged-up, ugly, and awesome as my other one was. And, just saying, it took me a long time to find a stripper XL on a lot with manual seats, roll up windows, and a seat that didn’t massage my *** while I drive.
Still only 7%, I am surprised at the low number of xl trucks. I couldn't imagine working out of a lariat or above, even with my base model xl I have mudflaps, seat covers and a dash rug to help try and keep it in good shape. I'd honestly be terrified jumping in a Lariat with dusty pants and muddy boots fresh off a job site.

Remember this site is a microcosm of Super Duty owners. I'll wager most fleet guys and work truck owners do not cruise this site.
The Lariat seems like the best compromise between luxury and utility. As far as working a truck, I'd say that delivering RV's around the country qualifies and sitting behind the wheel fourteen hours a day requires some creature comforts.
You don't here people saying "FX4" as a model. Because it's not. It's an options package.
Back in 2010, the F150 FX4 was its own model ... was situated between the Lariat and Raptor ... and was what I traded in towards my F250. But yes, nowadays, FX4 is just an optional equipment package. And I didn't opt for it because I wasn't impressed with it on my F150.
