I use OEM (since you have the Coolant Filtration)

I was in a pinch and put one in from oreillys last month. It is lifetime warrantied but had I had the time, I think I would have gone with the one Riff Raff has to offer along with that billet t stat housing.

I just did the one from RiffRaff, and also their billet housing. The pump looked good on inspection, and the install went very well. Zero leaks. I can't advise you about the longevity yet, obviously, but I spent a lot of time looking at pumps online and reading threads, and that all led me to the RiffRaff one. I have a good feeling about it.

Back YEARS ago when I did my first one everyone was using the Airtex pump and it was said that they were the original manufacturer to Ford for the pumps.

My pump itself isn't leaking-it is leaking between the pump and the front cover at the top.

I actually replaced my pump a few years ago because of this and even ordered an OEM seal from International.

The darn thing still leaks at the same place....

I am going to remove the pump one more time and use some sort of sealer on it this time and thought in doing so that I should replace the pump and not just put the old one back on....

And here I thought that the fancy seal was the end all to using any sort of sealer....

I installed the IH pump from DieselSite because I was very new to the 7.3 world. If I had to do it now, I would have pieced the IH pump together myself and gone a much cheaper route with the good product. Alternatively, the pump that RiffRaff sells is good too.

As for leaking the same spot, make sure there is not a burr or something there with a light scrub from some emory cloth.

Thanks! My cooling system is spotless thanks to that filter and the Peak Final Charge Coolant!

Thanks! I'm going to do absolutely everything I can to insure that the new pump doesn't leak-this is going to be it for a LONG time.

Sooooo The pump that RiffRaff is selling is made in China.....obviously a copy of the original because it has no numbers on it the way I understand it.

Any ideas as to where the one that Ford sells (Motorcraft) is made? Airtex?

Are any pumps made in the USA??

I'm pretty sure Alliant makes a pump for the 7.3 and a good chance it is US made. Some of these guys on here have so many layers of Chinese parts on their trucks, its no wonder all they do is work on them. I don't get the $125.00 for a $10.00 part as opposed to $175.00 for a $100.00 part. O'rielly can give you 3 starters or water pumps in a year under warranty and still come out ahead!!
