All standard cab and crew cab bench seats are interchangeable from 1980 - 1997. Same floor pan, same seat brackets. Extended cab shares the same floor pan and seat brackets with Broncos, and will not fit standard cab and crew cab trucks. Also the front and rear bench on crew cab trucks are identical, you can swap them as well. I've got the front bench from a 1990 and the rear bench from a 1991 in my '86 F350.

This is very interesting. In theory, one should be able to find a very slightly used rear crew seat and install it in a std cab.
The '96 seat I'm looking at has the high backs and is more comfortable (at least for the two minutes I sat on it) than the vinyl mesh fabric bench in my truck now.
It sure does. They are literally the exact same seat (with variations like high back/low back, etc) as are found in the front of crew cab and std. cab pickups.
