Extended cab seat pan in 87 regular cab

In researching changing my 87 250 bench seat to a 40 20 40 seat from a 97 250 extended cab I have read that the crew cab front seat will fit but not an extended cab front seat. In all the posts it is never explained why. I would think the cab floor would be the same in all three trucks but am not sure. Anyone know the reason? Keith

The main thing is that the Super Cab seats ("Extended Cab" is a Ch*vy term) need to fold forward to access the back seat. Same with Broncos, but reg cab and crew cabs don't. I'm not sure what all of the differences are that facilitate that, but that why they are different.

Also, the floor IS different . The SUPERcab has a different floor than a reg cab/crewcab

I did a little more research and think I have it understood now. My landlord has a 94 F350 crew cab and I looked at the seats in it and it has the pan that goes from side to side and only has four bolts and this is what I need for mine. I saw an ad for seats from an extended cab and had the guy send me the measurements for the seat brackets and it is the one with the four bolts per seat and the fold down seat in the middle which hangs off the side seats. It was not even close to mine. Keith
