We are considering getting a washing machine for our fifth wheel. Was wondering what brand you have and any problems. The ones that camping world has doesn't look very good for reputation. Looking at LG brand right now.
Any thoughts?
I ordered my Cardinal with washer dryer. Came with Whirlpool or Maytag stackables. My opinion stay away from the combo unit that does wash and dry. With stackables you can have a load in each at the same time. Also make sure you get dryer that vents externally, they dry much faster and get the moisture out of the coach. That requires boring a hole in the outside skin. That's why I personally had the factory do it. Take some measurements of your prep area, others have mentioned being able to buy apt size appliances that fit just fine. Dryer has to be a 120v.
We go to Holland SP full hookups on the beach for the entire month of June usually, and this is probably my wife's favorite feature of the Cardinal. I commute to work, she lays in the sun, swapping laundry loads as needed.
Does add a little more complexity and required a/f to properly winterize, but it's not a big deal to do.
Stick with the on shore brands. We had a Korean brand that was great till parts were needed. Waited over 3 weeks for the off shore parts to arrive. Many of the local repair shops also won't touch them because of that.
We full-time and have had our Splendide 2100XC for almost two years now. Never a problem with it. Many others that we know have the same unit and no complaints. We run a lot of loads through it. It is vented and can dry a load in around an hour.
It's not very water efficient, though, so make sure you have a full hookup site. Three loads will about fill our 40-ish gallon gray tank.

This is the kind of info I like to hear. We always get full hookup. Wife enjoys her shower in fifth wheel and those lots seem to be bigger so we fit better
Another vote for Splendide. Had one in the last trailer for 6 years and in this trailer for 6 years as full timers. If space is a premium, the combo can't be beat. Uses less water than a household setup. And Splendide's customer service is outstanding!
My wife regarded small size of Splendide unacceptable. The only time it got used was when I was traveling alone and then only to wash underwear. If you have no space that is about all you can do, but you will never confuse it with the ones you have at home.
Wish we could do stackable but no room in plumbed closet.
Dave,
I tried to google your make model trailer. i found a few floorplans that seem to show the w/d prep in the front in the bedroom? If so, is your space floor to ceiling? It looked similar to mine, and that without the w/d actually installed, it has a clothes rod across the top for hanging clothes and is just another section of the closet. In my cardinal with the w/d installed, they remove the rack, and install bracing across the top for the dryer. both appliances are smaller than normal home ones, and fit the space perfectly. they actually have brackets that attach the washer and dryer to make them one unit so to speak. Washer on the bottom, dryer stacked on top.
I'm sure you fully understand, I just didnt want you to artifically limit your choices if there was a clothes rod across the top where the dryer would be.
