I think that the rear wheel liner (28370) is just 1 piece (in the diagram) of fairly flat plastic that are more like deflectors..and not a true wheel well liner like the front is on a 78/79. We all know though that there is a front and back plastic piece.
Some thread on here a guy used a plastic front wheel wheel liners and MADE them fit the back. Some cutting and working over, (heat gun) and they were made to fit and they looked pretty good. I thought it was a cool idea.
NOT exactily the thread I am looking for. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...r-options.html
After using the advanced search and reading a # of old threads I can not find the pics. But talk about using some from a Super Duty was discussed....
Thanks! The piece I need is 27886. The old ones were pretty rusted out and I need to replace them. The ones with the drain holes in the picture way above.
Here's a quick look at mine after I cleaned it up and applied new seam sealer in the seams and bedlined with Herculiner bed liner. Prep is the most important step to using liner or any other paint material for that matter. Make sure the surface is roughed up and DRY before you apply any bedliner for adhesion purposes. Good luck and take your time. Nothing is worth anything if you rush and cut corners!
Thanks much! I hadn't looked at that site, but I think the gasket will be okay, as is. I've got filler necks and wheelhouses coming in shortly - that should button things up.
The thing to be careful about it removing the old # 9072 and breaking the plastic mount # 27936, if you are putting on a new one. Old gas make that rubber gasket hard as a rock.
