hey guys, trying to figure out how much a 1973 F250 SC 4x4 with a cummins 12 valve weighs. vehicle is not running and needs to be towed. Im trying to figure out if I can rent a Uhaul car trailer and tow it home. tow rig is not an issue, more concerned about the weight of the truck while on the rental trailer.

 

Mine with a 460 is 6500lbs

 

My gasser is 5300lbs.

I would expect the cummins deal around 6000.

 

SC = Supercab?

I thought first year of supercab production wasn't till 1975

Longbed or short bed?

 

It was 74 and no 4x4 SC until 78.............

Mine with 460 is 5700

 

Hmmmm so OP what is it you have??? I can see somone converting a supercab to 4x4 but taking a 73' 4x4 and converting it to supercab is a big stretch.

No matter the year I bet that SC long bed will not fit wheel base length wise on that U haul car hauler trailer...and I am sure it is WAY over the weight rating on that trailer.

A 4wd reg cab LB will barely, and I mean BARELY fit on a u haul car hauler with stock tires. I use to have a pic to prove it.. But exceeds the Max Load weight.

And if you tell the u-haul folks what you are going to put or try to put on it and the computer says NO, I bet they will not rent it to you.

And if you tell them you are hauling a 99 Ford Ranger and then put what ever on it and have an accident or the trailer breaks and it is not what you said you were going to put on it....oh boy hang on to your tail, u haul could charge you for repairs or even a new trailer.
