Do you typically trade your truck every couple of years? If so then just change your oil when the truck tells you and use dino. I wouldn't waste money on synthetic if you're not keeping the truck forever.
Now if your going to keep this one for a long time, 300,000+ miles, then maybe start using synthetic at a mileage duration that you're comfortable with.
My intention with the first truck was to keep it till the wheels fell off or kept it forever. However I had regen issues and rust issues so ford bought it back. I wanted to give ford another shot. This one I wanna keep till I retire round about 17 years, I drive about 15k a year so seems realist to me. So what I really wanted to get from this thread is on my original post. Best synthetic oil and change intervals everyone uses.
I love AMSOIL products. I use Blackstone labs to help me figure out the right oil change interval that works for me. My guess is with a quality oil the Ford oil life monitor will tell me to change the oil before the oil is actually ready to be changed.
I have used Rotella T6 5W40 for years. Cummins, Cat, Mack, Volvo, Perkins and others recommend Rotella, that says something. I run it in my Massy-Ferguson agricultural tractor and I will run it in my PS. The T6, or any synthetic, will keep your engine cleaner over time, and it holds up better under hi heat. Ultimately, it is your coin and your decision. I change mine every 5K and fuel filters every 10K.

The Ford OLM doesn't know what kind of oil you use, just the severity of the usage of the truck. I use synthetic oil too.
Changing oil when the OLM tells you to is plenty of leeway when you use synthetic.

Even though I have a 6.2L gasser, I go by the severe schedule when changing oil. As long as you don't go past what intervals are recommended in the manual - you will be fine.
