ECM which one? HELP, Number dummy?

I have a 1990 f-150, 5.8, auto, A/C, Nice truck but the ecm has at least one burnt out cap, and a rusted out resistor. Would like to get a new ecm but they want the number from the old ecm, the one I pulled out is from a 1991 f150 with a 5.0, from what the counter guy says. I dont know if the truck ran with this ecm, as I bought the truck not running from a deceased owner. I was able to get the truck to run on ether, the fuel pumps run all the time, the front sounded like it was ready to drop out of the truck, rear sounded fine. I put fresh fuel in the rear tank to see if it would come up to engine and run, but no luck. I'm going to just use the rear till I get it running good then deal with the front tank and pump. In asking other parts stores, they want the number off the old ecm to get the correct one. Short of trying to find an identical truck in the bone yard what can be done?

You need to post the calibration number off the drivers side "B" pillar (door post) so some one can help you.

3-98A-R00 is an example of a calibration number.

Are the labels on the PCM intact? White sticker near the 60 pin connector?

Yes, the labels are intact but I cant get a match from the parts stores. The ecm number is FOTF-12A650-N2A, I cant find a unit with the N2A at the end.

Also a large EOD is on the tag. also several other small numbers.

I have the same question but with a little twist. I have a 1991 f150 4x4 automatic. The original engine was the 5.0L. The previous owner swapped the 5.0L for a 1993 bronco 5.8L. What would be the correct ECM part number? Door sticker has a calibration code of 1-54L-R10.

Depends on a couple things. Is the truck using Mass Airflow or MAP? What transmission does the truck have? And does it have California/Federal emissions?

So basically, you need a PCM for the described 1991 year with a 5.8 E4OD, Fed, MAP?

Your existing door post calibration will be irrelevant as it is for the 5.0. The options you describe are pretty standard, just find a similarly equipped truck and you should be close. E4OD control is important here. 4R70W, C6 or manual transmission will not work with your transmission.

I did wreck a similarly equipped truck. Pics of the door post and the ECM for your consideration. ECM catch code is A2Z1. Truck is a 92 F150, 5.8, E4OD 2WD.

I just ran across this thread, someone swapped the original ECU in my 1994 5.0 E40D Bronco and I'm having issues with it.
My Calibration code is 4-54L-R10

Can someone help me identify the correct computer?

Thanks All!!

For the 4-54L-R00 the numbers are:
PROCESSOR AND CALIBRATOR ASSY., (EEC-IV) Number on unit F4TF 12A650-AAA and the Ford part number is F4TZ 12A650-AAA.
I do not list the R10.
