Hi Al I recently took my truck into the shop. They tell me I need a new engine control relay. I can't find it in the manual or anywhere on the internet can someone tell me what is actually called?
ok let me ask you this what did you all have a look at before you took it to that shop? Did you check all your fuses? Clean your battery terminals? check your glow plug harness? Check the EGR valve?
When you crank the truck are you seeing anything on the tachometer? Any white smoke coming out of the tail pipe? Any smoke at all coming out of the tail pipe?
The more details you can give us of what you did before you took it to the shop and what the shop all did and how they arrived at their conclusion will help us with giving you better advice.
It has new batery's, new alternator, just put in a new power steering pump, new icp, they told me I needed a new high pressure oil pump, and ipr they are in and new. They gave me a part code AR272 it is a relay. But the term they used to tell me what it is for makes no sense to me.

The AR272 is a fuel pump relay which would be under your hood I'm guessing on the driver side near the firewall. From what I'm finding on the interweb is that it costs about $5 - $10,
