I own a 1990 f150 5.0L 2WD. The cruise control hasn't worked since I've owned the truck. Autozone has a replacement relay I can buy, but I'm having trouble finding where the relay actually is. The guys at the store (who are usually spot on) can't figure out where it should go either other than it's mounted to the firewall. I've also read that my vehicle may not even have a relay for the cruise control. Anybody have some expertise they could shine on the subject?
The part no. from them is 19354. The reason I believe the problem to be electrical is because there is no light indication in the dashboard that flips on when the cruise control button is pressed.

None of the trucks in this era trucks have said light..
Is there any indicator for the driver to know the cruise is working? I've tried using it on the highway under the assumption that the light (which doesn't exist) doesn't work, so I still know that the cruise doesn't work. Is it most likely a vacuum line? I've read in some threads that there is an ABS sensor on the rear differential and a speed sensor on the transmission that can cause the cruise to fail if it isn't working properly. Is this true?

If you look at the mechanical speedometer cable plugged into the
trans. you should also see a two wire electrical connector.
As the mechanical speedometer cable spins, it generates a
sine wave which comes out on the two wires and is used
for the cruise control.
The red arrow points to where the two wire connector plugs into.
