I thought the SROD was based on the other trans internally, but they modified the shifter and put it on the tailshaft with the "single rail" shifting mechanism.
The F100/150 and the cars SR-OD shift lever mounts this way. It nestles into a nylon bushing that is notorious for cracking.
The Econoline SR-OD shift lever mounts on the outside of the trans, so it uses linkage.
The TS-OD shift lever is another notorious POS. It's composed of upper and lower sections, with pins that retain the two sections together.
Originally the pins were available by themselves, but Ford obsoleted the pins by replacing the 1984 shift lever with the 1985/87 shift lever.
It's still a 2 piece affair, but now if the pins break, you're up the proverbial creek without a paddle.
And one needs to read thru the parts catalogs text section to get the correct parts, because the F100/150 illustration of the SR-OD shift lever is wrong!
