Flathead heater hose outlets

My question::: ...do all you guys run heaters ? If you opt not to on your flathead do you just put threaded plugs in the head and water pump?

Yep, or a capped/plugged valve in case you change your mind. I don't have a heater (yet) but I used the hoses to run a coolant filter.

Second Mixer Man, you can just cap/plug them. Having a heater though is a good thing year round. Obviously, it will "help" to keep you warm(er) in the winter (they never really did all that well), but also help to cool the engine in the summer. There are a few fellows on the forum here that have ran their heaters on particularly hot days to help in preventing boil-over. Not very pleasant in the cab with the heater on when it is 98 degrees in the shade, but if you are traveling down the road with the windows down, and the vent up, it can be tolerated. Done it a few times myself when I have seen the temperature gauge needle beginning to creep up into the hot area.
