LOL.....Stop smoking....problem solved.
Just teasing with you.
Have a great day.
Funny you mention it....I did already but if I mentioned that in my original post, my line of reasoning would have been too weak. The other useful thing that larger center section without shifter offers is a good place to prop up your cell phone. I had to install a mount to solve that problem. Complaining about high class problems....smh. In the end, everyone should do what makes them happy.
the extra storage space in the console is nice even if you only need 2 cup holders. The section closest to the driver doesn’t have to be used as a set of cup holders, it can be used to store anything. That sliding cup holder thing is such a simple yet clever idea.
Yeah, because four cup holders in the center console isn’t redundant.
Ever take a road trip? Have kids?
Cell phone, Wife / Passengers phone, Water bottles for 2, Coffee, Gatorade, Fast food cups...
My last truck was a Silverado with 3 cup holders, always hated putting stuff in the door. Inevitably forget that one in the door is half loaded until you shut it and get soda or something spectacular all over the floor.
I also work out of my truck with a passenger all day. Typically have 2 waters, 2 Gatorades (larger ones fit perfect on the left side), and maybe a soda can in the 2 in the rear.
Plus there's a little hidden pocket under the tray that's in there.
Can never have too many cup holders. This just doesn't seem practical to me to replace it with a shifter. We all have different tastes though.
Im with @Finkikus on this one....replacing the extra storage space for a shifter thats bulky, does nothing for looks, you can't store stuff in seems like a waste....Like he said, different stroke for different folk. Only upside to a center console shifter is something to straddle if you into that......
^^ I'm with both of you. Not sure I get it but to each their own. I could get doing the Raptor steering wheel paddle shifter upgrade if looking for different shifting capabilities.
99% of the time, it's just me in my truck. Therefore, 2 cupholders (4 if you count the two in the back of the console) is MORE than enough for just me. Add in one passenger, and again, 4 cupholders are still MORE than enough for us.
Secondly, my console was from a F150, so I originally had the storage bin on the left side and the 2 cupholders on the right....so I never lost cupholders in the first place.
You have 10 gears to go through. I run manual shift most of the time with the exhaust brake . and since everything is up or down around here and I get damn tired of reaching up like I had a 3 on the tree to shift gears. it's just plain stupid. the idea of putting it where I can rest my arm and shift with a finger is flat awesome. plus it looks good.
I don't drink lattes anyway but if I do 2 will be enough.
