correct radiator needed?

I bought a project truck with no radiator. 1966 f100, manual, no ac, 240, 6 cyl, 2 wd. Before i go crazy looking, i need to know what i am looking for. I am not wed to a period correct radiator, but if i find it i may buy it. My radiator support has this block out plate. I get what its for, but not sure if it belongs on this truck or not. I have two sets of width holes i can go by. I also think the radiator needs to have the outlets on the pass side based upon the hoses on the engine.

Thanks

Read through this thread and I list what might be the same number as the radiator your truck would use. Check it out - I gotta admit I've never seen a block off or filler plate like that used on one of these trucks, but it does look like it fits good.

Any 1966/79 F100/250 2WD 240/300 I-6 radiator will fit as long as the measurements are similar.

1965 is different.

1966 F100/250 2WD uses a unique radiator support, but that doesn't mean that no other radiator will fit it.

Chad and Bill,

Thanks for the feedback.

Chad, I had seen the thread you posted earlier today and started looking up the numbers.

Bill, thanks for the heads up on what will fit.

My last question is am i looking for a 28 3/4" wide bolt pattern or am i looking for the 23 1/4" wide bolt pattern using the block off plate?

I cant seem to find this info.

Thanks

I have seen that baffle plate before - I thought it was standard issue on the '66 240-engined trucks. Apparently I am wrong.

Might be - it looks like its made to fit. I can say my 300 powered 4x4 doesn't have any extra filler plate, but certainly might be something they used on 2WD or ?? I don't have a lot of time to look in the MPC now.

Chad,

Thanks for the pictures. Thanks for taking the time. Very cool how you can put the picture up from the cd. I have the cd for my 77 project and find it very useful.

I have ordered my cd. I was waiting for the title issue to be resolved before I spent too much money on this truck. Title is in the mail. Now i am waiting on my cd and shop manual.
