Got a Carfax on a used diesel Superduty
at about 8,500 miles it apparently had the fuel tank replaced.
Should this be a red flag? Why would you need to replace a fuel tank at 8,000 miles?
If you give us a better idea about the truck your looking at like year, model engine etc what you plant to use the truck for ( towing everyday: ie: work equipment, around the farm. Towing occasionaly : ie: travel trailer, fifth wheel trailer, boat etc.
How far do you drive to work/home everyday? Short or long commutes? Do you need a diesel? What is your budget range?
The more information you give us the better the suggestions and advice you will get.

In a “no fuel” situation, they could go to extremes in a warranty related repair. I would agree, there is no need to replace a fuel tank unless there was physical damage or the cap for the sending unit was cross threaded.

Looking at a F250 either 2015/2016 CrewCab Shortbox 4x4 diesel.
Daily Driver short commute, Towing at least once a week in summer- Landscape trailer with lawn equipment, plowing snow winters,
skid steer w/ 14,000#rated trailer to haul it. Skid prob between 7,000/8,000#'s trailer prob around 2,000#'s.
We've tossed around the idea of a travel trailer (not fifth wheel) at some point but don't own one now.
I've thought about waiting to see about the F150 with a diesel engine coming out (unless rumors are wrong) but not sure if thats going to be rated high enough to tow much.
My current 07 F150 CC SB 4x4 is rated 7200 GVWR. Great for daily driver and fine for the landscape trailer, but really limited in towing anything else.
