1966 inline 6 240 timing markers

1966 inline 6 240 timing markers

Hey there. I'm finishing up a complete rebuilt of my 240 inline 6 and the time has come for timing to install the new distributor. I absolutely do not see any timing marker plate at all. The timing cover has a small casting of 14 10 6 3 but from the research I have found online that is not the marker to use. There was nothing there before the rebuild either. Any help would be appreciated.

i would think those should be the timing marks and there should be a notch/mark on the crank pulley - that sure is a fine looking engine good luck

I agree with k2evd.

The long line is TDC. Then to its left is 3, 6, 10 and 14 degress BTDC. The original crank pulley has a notch on the back edge closest to the cover.
