wacky alarm

Just bought a new 17 Escape SE, 1.5 EcoBoost, had the dealer install remote start, (don't know if that makes a difference). Here is the senario, vehicle always parked in the garage unlocked, went out to get something out of the car last nite, opened the passenger door and got what i needed, no problem, then went back out this morning, opened the passenger door and off goes the alarm, what the hell? Then my wife says she has had the alarm go off getting something out of the passenger side a time or two. Don't know what we are doing wrong, any help would be appreciated.

I discovered that on a '17 F250 when it is shut down an option will come up to select all alarms of perimeter alarm. When all alarms is selected even a strong wind that rocks the truck will cause an alarm. I selected perimeter alarm and all is well. Maybe you have that option somewhere in your setup screens.
