Valvoline PBE 5W40

As if we don't have enough oil threads.

Anyone know if retailers that stock it?

I've checked my local auto parts stores, O'Reilly, AutoZone, AutoValue as well as Walmart and other local retailers. Some can order it in, but none of them carry it on the shelves.

All carry the Rotella T6, which is what I may end up going with, but I've been a Valvoline user for 25 years now.

Thanks.

The VPB is only available locally from NAPA here and it has to be ordered. Another excellent option now is the Delo 5W-40 LE synthetic which you can still find in CJ-4 and very available at Oreilly's and is approved. The new CK-4 is starting to show up which is not approved yet. It extended regens on my truck from 250-300 miles to 400+ vs Rotella T6. I stockpiled about 10 gallon and he told me at Oreillys he could get all I wanted.

I had seen that, requires planing ahead for the change which is not normally an issue. Also cause a bit of an issue on the first change, where it's one quart short.

Might be the way i have to go, to go Valvoline.

So which oil extended the time between Regens for you?

The Delo 400LE 5W-40 CJ-4 synthetic. Changed out the factory fill at 1,000 miles to Rotella T6 5W-40 CJ-4 (found some old stock), then read about how the Rotella may have been improperly labeled and at 3,000 miles switched to the Delo CJ-4. All being monitored with the Edge CTS2. I have heard the VPB does as well, I have not used it, so I can't verify that.

Used the VPBX in my 6.0 and now the 6.7. I always watch for the sales and buy one oil change in advance. The Amazon sale price was better than Napa this time only because I didn't have to pay sales tax. They were both on sale.

My local NAPA doesn't carry enough PBE on the shelf to do a oil change but so far they can have what I need by the next day.... They often run PBE on sale for $19.99 per gallon.

Called one of 4 Napa's within 10 miles they had 3 gallons @ 28.99 each.

Placed the order on Amazon for 6 gallons, @ 20.54 each

So the next questions, how does one get notified when Napa runs it on sale?
