I know you have been talking about the wheel on here a lot what about your chip falling out take a piece of duct tape and after you put your chip in duct tape it around the box to hold your chip-in that should always be done for a safe measure so it does not fall out
This! I used black duct tape so that it blends in with the area.
So I called today and left a message. About an hour later I actually got a call back.. Spoke with Kevin for about 20 minutes about his options verses the others that are out there. He was very knowledgeable and professional with regards to his product and when talking about the other options. In the end it was the result of this conversation and the fact they SPX sells the wheel and the rebuild kit for the price of the just the wheel from others. Had the other vendors also included the rebuild kit it probably would've been a hard choice.
Kevin was 100% adamant that the 5+5 wheel was the one I wanted for my application. Just for reference for anyone else that finds this thread in the future and has the same questions I did, he said that the 7+7 was more for those individuals that I just daily driving your vehicle but not towing.
So I ordered this kit after I got done talking with Kevin .
Kevin is slipping a bit from when I bought the rebuild kit from him 2 years ago. He was back to me within minutes...
Glad you had a chance to talk to him and I agree 100%, he is very knowledgeable and helpful and will give you his honest opinion. You will not be disappointed with the outcome of his products.
Did Clay have a 6x6 wheel about 4 - 5 years ago? I bought my then new wheel from him but my memory fails me at this point. Either way, be it 5x5 or 6x6 it works great. It does have a bit of whistle at 5-7 pounds of boost but I have CHS so it doesn't bother me at all. Something to be said for working in power plants for 25 years!

Yes, he went to the 4/4 not too long ago, maybe 4 years now.
This is the description from his website.
We are now offering our 2nd Generation performance billet compressor wheels for the 94-03 7.3L Powerstrokes. This wheel provides more than just anti-surge like the standard Borg Warner aka Whistlin' Wheel, Anti-Surge Wheel, Banks Wheel and other 5/5 blade compressor wheels. Because of its lighter mass it spools faster, while providing more CFM flow and boost pressure. We usually see a 5-7 PSI gain in boost, as well as less smoke, better drivability and quicker response. By incorporating new leading edge technology, metallurgy, and the new 4/4 blade design we are seeing an average of 17.4 hp and 38.7tq gain on stock injectors with just a swap of the wheel. We recommend balancing the rotating assembly if available, though the wheel is already dual plane balanced.
I'm in the same boat with my truck. It needs a wheel, uppipes, and all the CAC boots too. I also tow the same parts of CO as you (I'm just south of you in Pueblo) and have a Toyota rock crawler. Keep us posted on how well the new wheel does towing!

If/when you get the parts you need you will not believe the difference in how the truck performs. All of my boots were leaking, the up-pipes were leaking, but the wheel was fine for 220K miles. The RiffRaff 4/4 wheel was a nice upgrade when I was rebuilding the turbo with the full rebuild kit from SPX.
How's this for fast shipping! I ordered late Friday afternoon and received it today. For some reason I thought the wheel would be bigger. Looking forward to getting this installed.
I'm thinking it's there to show relative size of compressor wheel.
I assumed so it just looked funny to me. I was also surprised when I opened the box. I was expecting a larger wheel based on the housing size. First time I had taken a turbo apart.
