2013 FX4 - Fix a dent or not?

Last night my wife was driving my truck and got hit in the right rear lower bed side and bumper. I'm waiting on the repair estimate and debating if I should fix it or keep the money and put it towards a new truck. This one has a 5.0 and 89,500 miles, loaded with almost all options.

Worth a great deal more if you fix it. The dealer will really stick it to you at trade time if you don't fix it

If I were keeping the truck as a work vehicle then I'd leave it be, otherwise, I'd fix it.

Whether you sell or keep it, get it fixed. Especially since it’s not on your dime. Dealers love to find even small dents to drop the trade-in value.

Thanks for the advice, but it turns out I will make some money off it. I took it to the dealer and let him decide if he wanted to fix it. He knocked $2K off my trade in value...but insurance is paying me $4.4K for the repairs. That means my wife made $2.4K by wrecking it.

I now am waiting for a new 2017 F250 to be
delivered on Monday.

Thanks...my new truck should be here tomorrow. I'll take it for a few 2 hour runs unloaded, then it's gonna get broken in towing my Chenowth down to the Baja 1000. Not racing this year, just hanging out watch the start and eat some tacos. I'll be hanging with my cousins and making some runs in the desert...Vive Mexico!
