Need help, black coolant

I changed my hoop last night and drove it for probably50 miles so far. Got to work this morning to make sure I had no leaks and noticed my coolant was low pop the cap off and it is really black checked my oil and it's right where it should be I was thinking either injector O-rings or cups, when I get out of work I'm going to change the oil and flush the cooling system and see what happens after that. was wondering if anyone had an idea of what it could be. I've had oil in my fuel and it ended up being injector O-rings

injector o rings wouldn't mix oil and coolant , cups could but i would be looking at the oil cooler as the likely culprit.

I was thinking that also the other night I had to torch off the bolts on the exhaust manifold on the driver side and I'm thinking maybe I got it a little too hot

Oil cooler would be my first stop to check as well. If you had a torch in the area and the cooler has the original o-rings, you may have just put them past their limit.

Get OEM o-rings from Diesel O-Rings or RiffRaff for the cooler if you decide to R&R it.

I figured if the O-rings went on the oil cooler I would have a leak somewhere around that area I haven't pulled my fuel filter off to see if there's anything in there the only thing I noticed was low coolant and it was very dark

if inner o-ring fails you will not see a "leak" but it will cross contaminate between oil and coolant.

Well I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope that that is the problem that would be much easier to fix than while rings are cups

Yeah I have actually done quite a few of them but that was mostly from leaking oil

Do you have drain the oil to rebuild the cooler?
I know you have to drain the coolant.

I work on a farm so I get all the oil I want with the filter being so cheap you might as well just change the oil and the coolant all in one shot

I believe the answer is yes. Might not be required, but the contamination of oil to coolant and vice versa is a bad idea to run for long periods when changing the oil is quick and fairly cheap.

Well yea if it has water in it.
I picked up the parts a while back and I may rebuild it when I change the coolant, upper hose, and belt, but I don't need an oil change. From what I have read, it more likely to fail when its cold. As in the dead of winter. That is why I asked.
