can anyone confirm wiring for the starter circuit going through the GEM module on an early 1999 v10 f250. from what i can find it does not but would like to know if anyone has had a gas truck attempt to start by itself like the diesel trucks do when the GEM is toast.
The GEM is NOT in the starter circuit for either the gas or the diesel version fo the F250.
if that is true why are there posts online and a friend stating a crazy GEM caused diesel trucks to turn over at random times and gem replacement solved it
i assume something may be connected in the v10 also because when i bought this truck the gem was crazy and it had tons of aftermarket wiring to get around it including the starter.
im not saying your wrong but id like to see a diagram or link to something to show it

Beats the heck out of me, all I know is how the circuit is wired and is supposed to work. Maybe they were drunk or just their messing around with the fusebox to get to the GEM "fixed" whatever issue there was, IDK. The only difference I see in the diagrams is that the diesel has an extra battery. I've been tracing circuits in electrical diagrams for over 40 years, I'm pretty good at these simple circuits.
Diagrams are attached, check them and see what you see.

**** ask and I shall receive. My 2002 book shows the same as you listed here but I thought something may have changed from my early 99 to the 02. Thank you
