Removing the front plate bracket

Hey Guys,

I took a look at this over the weekend, just looks like two rivets and some clips that hinge in from the top. Has anyone removed theirs? What's behind the bracket...worried about drilling out the rivets only to have it look like crap with what's left behind. Thanks!

I just pulled on my bracket and the rivets popped out. They are plastic and weak.

I installed a small light bar in that location.

Ditto, just pull. You'll be left with two small holes, but it will still look better than a license plate.

I actually drilled out the rivets..but either way the rivet is plastic and you can probably pull it off. It is also hooked on top with 2 square clips..just wiggle it off and it will pop off..It will leave 2 small round holes facing forward from the rivets..I just bought plastic cover plugs and plugged the holes..the top square holes i just left alone.

Adding a LED light bar is a good idea..i might do the same.

Which brand light bar did you get and how did you mount it?

I used the factory supplied up fitter wiring inside the engine bay, close to the brake reservoir.

I know this thread is a few years old but I figured I would still ask. @bushpilot does your truck have the pre crash sensor I think it is called to right of the lightbar? I am thinking about getting the same light bar and wanted to make sure it was going to fit in the limited space available in the lower bumper.
