Is there anybody out there with a meyer plow on there late 80's bronco, or f series? I need a measurement of the length of the clevis frame, part number 4 on the meyer parts sheet. It is the piece of angle iron that has the brackets welded to it that accept the plow a frame and get the pins installed to hold the plow frame.
I purchased an old conventional used one from a guy that had one removed from a bronco I was told, but the piece i got is too short to connect the vertical pieces dropping from the frame. I'm going to guess it has to be about 31 1/4" long where the one I have is close to 28" long. I want to make one up but I want to make it the correct length.
best way to get the proper measurement is to mount the drop brackets and measure between them.
i just measured the one for my 88 and it is 30 3/4 between drop brackets.
That sounds like a good distance, it would be about what is there now. I have the side plates hanging now. I wanted to see if anybody had the set up and could measure it. I don't have the history of this truck I'm putting the plow on, just thinking I would like to make sure that I have the size correct incase the truck had some minor frame tweaking.
well, if the frame was tweaked the proper mount wouldn't fit anyway.
bolt the drop brackets tight and measure the distance between them. i bet you will see about the same 30 3/4 inch.
i think that 28 inch lower is for a 77 and older truck with the narrow frame.
