Newbie EEC-IV help!!
I have seen the engine light flash while driving a few times over the past few weeks and figured something was wrong. The truck runs fine, but I wanted to check it out anyways. I just moved, so I don't have a code scanner or voltmeter; I onlt have a few basic hand tools because my moving truck won't be here for two more weeks. My next option was to have Autozone pull them, but their scanner is broke. Go figure. I only have a jumper wire. Yeah, sucks to be me.
I checked the coolant and all fluids, checked EEC connections, vacuum lines and all the other stuff. I let the vehicle warm up for about 10 min before testing. Here's what I got:
Start the engine:
1. Check engine light blinks (4) times, with approximately 1 second interval between flashes.
Turn engine off. Wait ten seconds, make sure all electrical loads are off. Turn key to on position:
2. (KOEO) Engine light flashes four times, with approximately a 3 second interval between flashes.
Wait eight or ten or so seconds. (continuous codes?)
3. light blinks: 1,3,2
Can anybody help?? I hope somebody can. Like I said there's no sign of anything being wrong, the truck runs fine. Thanks!
BTW: it's an '89 bronco w 5.0 & AOD

KOEO reports continuous codes. The four flashes sound like the ID code, but that spacing is too long IMO to be the ID. On your 89 you should be expecting two-digit codes.
